The 3rd space. Neither office nor home

Work habits are changing and the unstoppable trend to work in flexible spaces is spreading: away from home and outside the office.
Today we bring you a very interesting article by Jonatan Loidi in Infobae, read it here. In it he reflects on the changes in work habits and the unstoppable trend to use flexible work spaces as an alternative to traditional work in the office and telecommuting at home.
Not only is there a growing demand for this type of space among all types of teleworkers, employees, freelancers, digital nomads or the new workaholics. It also represents an unbeatable opportunity to connect "with a new business field for owners of bars, restaurants and hotels that will welcome them to expand their clientele and monetize idle spaces".
The pandemic and the future new normality have only accelerated a trend and made visible a need that had been spreading for some time. And it also means going a step further. Coworking spaces are going to see their activity recover and demand grow well above the 2019 data. But it is also the optimal time for hotel spaces to reinvent themselves, giving use to idle spaces, opening new sources of income and, what is perhaps more important, gaining new Clients' loyalty.

As Jonatan Loidi says in the above-mentioned article, "the new normal will increasingly demand workspaces that adapt to the changing needs of remote work. At the same time, it will connect with a new business field for bar, restaurant and hotel owners who will welcome them to expand their clientele and monetize idle spaces."
An analysis by the famed Boston Consulting Group (BCG) established that teleworking can increase productivity by 15% to 40%; reduce absenteeism by 40%; reduce staff substitutions by 10% to 15%; as well as reduce costs by more than 20% in rent and resources.
As we have said, there is an unstoppable trend towards working in flexible spaces, away from home and the office. The hotel spaces that reinvent themselves and ride this wave first will be the ones that will reap the greatest long-term benefits from this new model. The time is now.
